VS is a 10-minute experimental documentary about relationship between western and eastern, especially between Democratic People’s Republic of Korean A.K.A North Korea and United States of America in my point of view. The subtext would be contrasts, differences and conflicts. The documentary itself has 3-part themes: Nature/Basic, Material and People/Places. The audio and sound effects drives the documentary.

The old man receives the news of his cancer and has limited time left. He wants John to not follow his footsteps of a broken family and abusive lifestyle. He persuades his son using his house that his son wants. Meanwhile, his ex-wife Jenny is saying if John secures the house, then she will forgive him and will live together with their daughter to start a new life. Now, the son wants his father’s house. In order to get it, he starts to act nicer and tries to convince his father that he will become a better man.

The daily grind – the difficult routine or monotonous tasks of daily work.

This music video is created in an attempt to capture organic expressions from the public in the form of a time lapse, which represents the passing of time. It symbolises the tedious and repetitious daily routine. As we often pass time aimlessly. the time lapse in this experimental music video shows us how that time goes by routinely in our busy and complex life, although time is considered as a precious commodity in modern life.

The main theme of this music video is ‘suffocating’ and ‘being trapped’. The musician himself is a miniature of symbolising the effects that drugs can have on people; being a slave to the drug and slowly losing self-control over their lives. The video is based on a personal experience that a friend of the musician’s has gone through.
